Both Hawksbill Turtles and Green Turtles are frequently observed in Mauritius. The Hawksbill Turtle is the more rare of the two, and unfortunately it's population size has decreased by approximately 80% over the last century. Always remember to never touch or interact with these wild sea turtles! Mauritian sea turtles generally spend their entire lives in the water, except when the females return to the beach to lay eggs.
